Participants and Ubaya leaders
- “Learning makes perfect”. This proverb is appropriate for new Ubaya lecturers and researchers who just joined Ubaya. On the event called “Institutional Orientation Event for Ubaya Lecturers and Researches” (OKD) held on 12-13 January 2010, 9 participants learn more about Ubaya profile and core value. What makes the session more special is the presence of Ubaya Rector, Vice Rector I and II as speakers.
On B 1.1 room Ubaya Ngagel campus, Prof.Ir. Lieke Riadi, Ph.D. (Ubaya Vice Rector I) opened the event. After Prof. Lieke, Prof.Drs.ec. Wibisono Hardjopranoto, M.S. as Rector and Drs.A. Adji Prayitno, MS,Apt. as Vice Rector II gave their welcoming remarks. The opening was followed by the session about Ubaya history, organizational development, vision and mission and core values.
Adjie Prayitno delivered the Ubaya history. This man with glasses highlighted that Ubaya becomes bigger because of the efforts and power of Ubaya community, not because of external’s efforts. Besides the history, he also delivered vision and mission session. After Adjie was Prof Lieke who delivered Ubaya core values and culture. This short hair women explained that core values of Ubaya are self discipline, Lis volat Propiis (flying with its own wings), Pacta Sunct Servanda (Fulfilling the promise), Caring Community, Learning Organization, and co-opetition.
The third speaker was Prof. Wibisono. He added that Ubaya is a university that strives to spirit of pluralism, nationalism & humanism, academic paradigm, and university autonomy, means in conducting academic activity, Ubaya adheres, implements and maintains the autonomy aims to determine academic programs that are in line with Ubaya vision and mission. Following the session was Q and A session.
According to Prof. Lieke who is former Dean Faculty of Engineering, “This event is aimed to introduce the Three Services of Higher Education Institution (TriDharma) consists of research, teaching and community service to new Ubaya lecturers and researches. We hope by understanding TriDharma, they can walk and work within the right corridor.”
The next session was about philosophy of higher education institution delivered by Drs. Hariyanto. The day after, on 13 January, the participants were asked to develop action plan and commitment and present the plan in front of their Deans and Head of Study Program. - [Read: 566 times.]
