Ubaya Student Studies Prostitution area of Dolly

Ubaya Faculty of Business and Economics student namely Like Meiliani (23) studies Gang Dolly area from business perspective.

”So far, people only study Gang Dolly from social perspective, no wonder some people propose to close down Gang Dolly. As a matter of facts, studying from business perspective makes us aware that it needs some solutions to close down Gang Dolly”, Like said in Surabaya.

Like who was born in Surabaya, 12 May 1987 said that solutions are needed before people can decide to close down Gang Dolly or judge that Gang Dolly is illegal business. Like who has started its research from semester 6 (2007) described,” From business perspective, closing down Gang Dolly is not easy because it means we terminate people who earn money from Gang Dolly such as car park owner, warung owner, bathroom rental owner and many others.”

Moreover, the daughter of Herman Sutedja and Lilik Martini highlighted the importance to firstly develop solutions before deciding to close down Gang Dolly.
”If we close down Gang Dolly, how can they earn money? They don’t even finish their elementary school. Cottage owners in Dolly are not well educated people, but they are able to conquer many obstacles. They are strong because they have guardians,” she added.
According to this SMA St. Louis 1 Surabaya, by reading a lot of international economics journals, she knows that all countries have their own prostitution area like Dolly.

”Dolly has 2 big owners and 54 cottages. 1 owner owns 1 cottage with 44 naughty girls.  While the other owner is smaller, owns 6 cottages that occupy 70 naughty girls. Hence, market structure and price strategy in Dolly is oligopoly. Oligopoly refers to a form of market competition that is dominated by several producers in a particular area. The price is relatively the same, but naughty girls’ physical performance and service differ 1 cottage to another,” she said.
